The Joy Center Orphanage was founded in 2002 with substantial help from a Meridian based missionary / minister, Sara Gibson. After visiting Kenya and meeting Pastor Robert Mukarani, the Joy Center's director and founder, "Mama Sara" (as she is referred to at Joy Center) began to work in the U.S. on their behalf, helping to move them from a meager dirt shack with no water or electricity into a larger, more adequate home. Much has been accomplished, but there is still much assistance needed to feed, clothe and educate the more than 100 children that now call Joy Center home.
The need is increasing, but we know that God is faithful in His provision!
We believe that all children have intrinsic value and deserve to be nurtured, loved and protected.
Together we have an opportunity to contribute to these children's futures and to help in providing
them with the necessities needed to live and thrive despite extreme poverty.
